FORTE 8 Arrives on November 28th!

Look forward to these new features…

Miriam introduces you to two new features in our video:

  1. FORTE 8 allows you to write fingering
  2. The integrated tuner helps you tune your stringed instrument

Writing fingerings
Many piano teachers wrote to us wanting the ability to write fingerings for their students.

With FORTE 8, you can prepare your etudes better and master difficult passages faster: enter your fingering directly into the score.

Edit the elements to match your playing and reading habits.

A tuner? A tuner!
FORTE 8 comes with an integrated tuner. You’ll find the right tune easily.

Sit comfortably at your desk and tune your stringed instrument.

You can also play along to your pc and read the music from the screen.

What do you think about these new features? Do you need to write fingering often?

Let us know! We’re looking forward to your comments or messages.

The new v8 features are not too interesting for me, I’m a drum teacher. I’m hoping that the various bugs I have identified will be fixed in v8

Forte 7 ou Forte 8 m’intéressaient mais uniquement en version française.

I use Forte Standard in a french version.

Forte 7 ou Forte 8 would interest me but only with a french version !

I tell you many times already. Thank you for tell me when it will be realised.

Hi, The upgrades look good. As I play the Banjo the Fingering would be a great asset. Can you add the banjo, 4 and 5 string, to the list of instruments?.

Problem for you:- How do you place a break [pause] at the end of a line? The margin maker keeps taking over and prevents me placing it there. It works fine at any other bar but the end of line.

Forte is an excellent program but has had a severe limitation for guitarists : notation in TAB can not go beyond the 12th fret. Has a the TAB notation feature been upgraded to 15 of 17 frets ? This would be most appreciated.

I love the ease of Forte 7! Being able to add fingering with just a click will be a wonderful update. I’m looking forward to the other 6 updates. I just hope that the overall layout and input will remain similar from Forte 7 to Forte 8.

I m Excited to see Forte8 . What I feel is after applying SLURS, the sound remains same.
    1. some improvisation with slurs will definitely make a huge difference in the sound.

    2. Can we add more performance and directions?

    3. In Dynamics, P is much quiter, in this case how will PP or PPP sound?

Overall volume of this software need little more loudness.

But right now whatever help I am getting from Forte is very very helpful…

      FORTE Admin says:

      Dear Papu,

thank you very much for your feedback. FORTE does not support the interpretation of slurs, yet.
If you have inserted dynamics you can set up the volume of each element. Simply double click on e.g. the “p” to enter the value of the velocity.

Love the new features on Forte 8. Just a point about adding fingering. Woujld it be possible to add fingering to guitar chords? My students often ask me to add the fingering to the chords I prepare for them. I print out the chord charts for them then add the fingering details manually – easier if Forte could allow me to do it.
    Love your programme.

      Hi Tony,

thank you for your excellent question.
I’m sorry, but at the moment this is not possible.
We’ll see that this will be added in the future 🙂

      Kind regards,

Thanks for adding the option of adding guitar fingerings! This among other things may just convince me to upgrade.

One question: once the fingerings are added, are you able to change their position in the score? Every guitarist is a little different as to where they prefer to see fingering notations, so it’s important to be able to position them to preference.

      FORTE Team says:

      Hi Matthew,

thank you for your question! Yes, you can change the positioning of the guitar fingerings according to your preferences.
In the context menu, you can decide for a general “above” or “below” the note for each fingering you added.
And as with any element, mark it and press ctrl+the arrow keys to move the position.

      Kind regards,
      FORTE Team
